This is why...

....one should not look at houses until they have jobs to pay for them.

My Dream Home

I am in love...... :(

But H has a job interview, and I applied for a very promising job this morning, so we will see.

Re: This is why...

  • This post reminds me of a time last year when DH went to look at our dream house. We loved it but there was no way we could get approved for the mortage. It was just a big tease.

That is a beautiful house! I would be in love too if it were in my area!

Good luck with your DH's interview and the job you applied for!

Married the love of my life on 1-21-12. Our princess arrived on 5-28-13.

  • Wow!  Looks like a beautiful house.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm guilty of doing the same thing.

  • The ReMax office is in Allentown, PA with a 610 area code?! It reminds me of home.... :( I couldn't see the pic of the house for some reason, I think my computer is being screwy. DH's grandma has given us several talks on why we should buy a house, but we keep telling her we want to get a stable job first. Here in FL you can get a house for around $40,000 with a $300/mth payment. It's half of what we pay for rent! It's really hard not buying a house.

Good luck on your job application and on your DH's interview!

  • My DH and I are guilty of the same thing.  We are happy with our current home and know that we won't be moving for a few more years yet due to jobs, my finishing school and now baby.  But I love to look.

Hopefully the interview goes well for your DH and you hear back.

  • I've been guilty of the same thing! Before we were ready to buy I told DH the only model homes that we can look at are the ones that are way beyond our price range. That way I knew there was no chance of that house even happening. Nine times out of ten the house would be way bigger than I ever would want anyways (like 3000sq ft and bigger).

  • I was looking at another house that I knew we couldn't afford, but this we could. Who knows, maybe H and I will have a job soon. And it is especially cheap according to other properties in the area.

Megan- I hope I didn't make you too homesick!
